Personal Statement
My passion is football which began at 9 years old when I joined Pee Wee South Park Falcons football. I played both offense and defense. Our team qualified for the Optimist Bowl in 2010. As young kid, the excitement of playing at the Charlotte Memorial Stadium in front of TV cameras was pretty exciting. However, the best part of that experience, was watching our entire team pulling together, never giving up and fighting to the end. We were losing until the last minute of the game and won the championship by one point. I was hooked by the competition, the adrenalin, the full team effort of the sport and I haven’t stopped playing since! I played offense and defense through middle school and freshman year. My sophomore year I played linebacker. My favorite thing is bringing energy and getting my teammates motivated and pumped up!
Spectators only see the touchdowns and the final score on the board. They don’t see the hours of rigorous practices to include months of weightlifting, sprints, practices on and off the field, dietary restrictions in order to be the best you can be for your team and score the touchdowns.
I am dedicated to improving myself on the field as well as in my studies. I am hopeful I get the chance to prove this in college.
