My name is Weston Cook and I am a 6’4” 170 lb. quarterback with a 4.7 40-yard dash time for Independence High School out of Charlotte, NC. I am a senior and have played quarterback on the junior varsity and varsity team since my freshman year.
Since beginning my football career at the age of 8 I have aspired to play college football. I have had the opportunity to be apart of programs such as NC Elite and USA Football. I participated in the VTO Combine where I had a top 5 finish. I have also been a part of my high school basketball, baseball, and track teams.
I am searching for an academic institution that excels in academics as much as their sports programs. I am looking to be an immediate impact to a collegiate program where I receive guidance from coaching staff to really hone my skills.
Personal Statement:
I have been playing football since I was eight years old. Since stepping on the field I knew from that minute I wanted to play at the collegiate level. My passion since has been to get better everyday. I work hard to improve my strength, speed, and skills. As quarterback I know that all eyes are on me. That’s why I strive to lead by example on the field as well as in the classroom to set an example that my school would be proud of.
I am involved in FCA, I am on the leadership council for my football team and work at our neighborhood produce stand. I know that playing football in college would be an excellent opportunity where I can push myself physically and strive to earn a degree in a field of my choice. Football may not last forever but an education would remain with me for life.
