Personal Statement
Ever since I can remember, I've loved football! After my first play with Virginia Randolph Rams at age 7, I could not imagine my life without it! My dream has always been, to one day pay in the NFL. I work hard every day in school and train to become a better athlete in spite of my challenges with being specific learning disabled. Before both my grandmothers passed away, I promised each of them that they would one day get to fly their angel wings over me when I play my first PROFESSIONAL game in the NFL, and I am willing to do whatever hard work it takes to get me there!
Being a Christian athlete is not necessarily the most popular route to take as an athlete, but it has helped me to become young man that my parents raised me to be. I don't want to be JUST another popular athlete. I want to be a role model for kids on and off the field by setting an example of how to be YOU in spite of not taking the most popular route in life can achieve your goals. I want to be the athlete that my coaches look at as say, "That young man's spirit..." and I certainly want to display the kind of behaviour on and off the field that make and keep my parents proud of me!
Showing others by example, that being grounded in your faith, putting in the hard work and remaining determined can make your dreams become a reality in spite of your circumstances and challenges. When I do make it to the PROS, I will give back to my church and community, so I can help other kids with athletic dreams, create a better future for themselves.
