Personal Statement

I am a senior at Lake Norman Charter High School where I have earned 3 varsity letters and have started every game my sophomore & junior seasons.  Football is my passion.  I currently play a hybrid linebacker / strong safety position, fullback & long-snapper.  However, something that I feel is important to add is that I have played almost every position on the field since my freshman year.  I am very versatile team player who will play wherever the team needs me.  Football has taught me many things - to be a leader on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom.  I aspire to take the leadership lessons I have learned into my adult life, playing football at a university which will allow me to get a great education, and becoming a productive citizen who is a role model to others.

Given my desire to succeed, my work ethic is second to none.  Whether on the football field or in the classroom I pride myself on my preparation.  If it is studying film or on the practice field, I make it my priority to know our strategy, our opponent’s tendencies & where everyone is supposed to be on the field.  Due to that hard work & preparation, I have logged over 250 total tackles, 6 blocked kicks, 8 fumble recoveries, & have caused 7 fumbles in my varsity career.  I am an All-Conference Selection in the Big South Conference.  In the classroom I currently have a 4.67 weighted GPA in a class load filled with honors & AP classes.  I also earned a summer internship this year with a Neurology practice in Charlotte, beating out 30 other applicants.
