Personal Statement
I am a 5 Star Prospect per Kohl’s Kicking/Longsnapping and a 4.5 Star Prospect per Rubio Longsnapping. I am currently attending Southlake Christian Academy in Huntersville, NC where I am an A student with a 4.3 GPA and a 30 ACT. This Varsity season marked my third year as the starting Longsnapper for Southlake Christian’s Varsity team and my second year starting at Center. This off-season, I have continued to focus on longsnapping by attending both Kohl's Kicking and Rubio Longsnapping Events, most recently the Kohl's Southern Showcase and Rubio Vegas Event. My reviews are as follows:
Kohl's, "During the 2014 NSC, Chris finished 5th and averaged a snap time of .72 seconds. He went 10/17 snaps through the target and hit 1 of 2 Big Ball snaps. Chris finished with an average snap time of .75 seconds at the Southern SC event in May, 2014. He scored on 13/15 LS and put 8 through the target. Chris' ball location an rotation were very good during the live segment evaluation and he showed good footwork during the drill session. Chris attended the 2014 Underclassman Challenge in January where he put 5 snaps through the target and scored on 8/15 LS. He finished with an average snap time of .79 seconds and is very explosive with his lower body. Chris showed good footwork during the protection segment of camp and stayed consistent with his ball location when snapping to the punters during drill work. During the December 2013 Southern Showcase event, Chris was the top 2015 finisher with a score of 33/45 points and an average snap time of .74 seconds. He scored on 12/15 snaps with 6 going through the target. Chris shows great explosiveness with his mechanics with very good accuracy and ball rotation. Christopher attended the 2013 National Scholarship Camp where he finished at the top of the 2015 class. He finished camp with a score of 41/55 and a .77 second average snap time. Chris put 7/17 snaps through the target and hit 13/15 SS. Christopher scored on 14/17 total snaps and showed his consistency as he made it into the super six of the camp wide snap competition."
Rubio, "Another camp and another good outing for Lutzel at the Rubio Long Snapping camp in NC. This kid is a very quick learner and does exactly what you tell him to do. Coachable! Ball is quick and his form is good. Snaps a very catchable ball. I would love to see him not think so much and make sure he gets his eyes through quicker and locks down his spiral. Very good snapper."
At the conclusion of our varsity season, Southlake won the State Championship and finished with an 11-1 record. Personally, I was awarded 1st-Team All-State, All-Conference, and was the NC Special Teams Player of the Year, as well as being featured in the Tom Lemming Report. In the summer of my Rising Junior Year, I competed at the Under Armour / Kohls National Scholarship Invitational where I placed first in the nation for the class of 2015 and made it to the camp-wide finals in the snapping competition, which included JUCO, Rising Senior, and Junior Longsnappers. As a result, I received an automatic invite to the Under Armour Underclassmen Challenge as a part of UA All-American Week. I also competed as a member of Team USA in the National Development games where I started at both Longsnapper and Center for Team USA Blue. Before that, I also competed at the National Under Classmen (NUC) All-American Performance Week where I also started at Longsnapper and Center. As a sophomore at the time, I was invited to and competed at the US Army All-American National Combine as a Center.
