Personal Statement

I'm Coty Flynn, and I am a sold out follower of Jesus Christ. Everything that I am and could ever hope to be is all because of Him. He is the source of any gift or talent I possess. My passion is sports, especially football. I started playing football when I was in 7th grade, and I began to love it immediately. My first year on varsity I was a starter at cornerback, at this point my high school had only won 1 game in 6 years. The next year, I was a sophomore and I was starting defensive end, and starting offensive guard. As many times as possible, the coaches would switch me into linebacker to relieve our senior linebackers. Our season ended at 6-6, and our school had its first ever playoff appearance. At the end of the season, I was recognized as a Rutherford Weekly "All-County" player. As a junior, I was starting middle linebacker, and starting fullback. Our team finished the season 8-4, and faced another playoff appearance. At the end of the season, I was awarded All-Conference player, and also I was recognized as an "All-County" player by Rutherford Weekly, and The Daily Courier. I was also chosen as a "Gridiron Great" by The Daily Courier on 9/27/13. Towards the end of my Junior year, my team and my coaches awarded me with the Best Offensive Back Award for the season.

Each and every season I have become bigger, stronger and faster through hard work and determination through training. I would like to continue my football career into college and hopefully have my abilities to help financially achieve my ultimate goal of a college education.
