I am a dedicated student-athlete looking for a university that offers a challenging academic environment, coupled with a very competitive football program. An East Coast university would be ideal, but I am also interested in universities in the South or Great Lakes. Location is not as important as the quality of education, the financial aid available, and the chance to play football early. When it comes to football I am very passionate about the game. I have demonstrated a high level of flexibility and leadership as the quarterback. Our offense is dynamic using spread, pro, I and other formations, so I am called upon to make play decisions quite often at the line of scrimmage. I have also developed skills at Tight End, which provides my team with added options and depth. My work ethic is to set an example for my teammates to follow - I will not be out worked, nor out performed! I carry this in the weight room, the practice field and on game day. I know perfect practice equates to unconscious competence during the game. I work to inspire my teammates and become forceful only when I know they are capable of doing more. I execute my tasks with precision, striving for perfection, and as my coaches direct. I seek opportunities on the field and exploit them for the team's advantage, striving to create conditions which support the coach's game plan. I respect my opponents, but display my colors through my performance, not my words. During my senior year, my focus of effort in football is to maximize my on field performance by maintaining D-1 performance standards, providing on field leadership as a team captain/combine MVP, and developing the consistency required to play at the college level, all with the goal of helping my team place high in conference and make a deep run in the state 2a playoffs. Even though I am the third youngest student in the class of 2013, I approach the classroom and my studies with a passion similar to football. I have learned my grades reflect my character and are the stepping stones to achieving my life goals. I realize I am a contributing member of the student body and looked upon differently than other students. As such, I remain courteous and respectful of all teachers, and students, and do my best to assist them in shared courses as best I can. Though I continue to evaluate numerous degree fields as I complete my high school classes, I am currently interested in broadcast journalism or journalism, with the goals of acheiving a high GPA, and becoming either a sports broadcaster or sports news anchor. In closing, I believe I will make a significant contribution as a student-athlete to the university and football program that is willing to know me as a person, provides a welcoming campus setting, inspiring and challenging me to achieve my fullest potential.
