Personal Statement

2016 NCHSAA 2A State Champions!!!!!!!! Final Score: 58-12. This is the 19th State Championship Won in the History of Reidsville High School!!!!!!! 16-0 Overall / 5-0 Conference!!!

I am very pleased and very proud to say that my team, the Reidsville High School Rams Football Team, is the Winning Champion Team of the 2016 NCHSAA 2A State Championship Game!!! We defeated the runner-up team,  John A. Holmes High School on Saturday, December 17th, 2016 in Winston-Salem, NC at Wake Forest University, BB&T Field. Final Score: 58-12.

The positions that I play are Offensive Guard and Offensive Tackle. Occasionally, I have played Defensive Tackle, as well. I am a Senior at Reidsville High School, in Reidsville NC (Class of 2017).  We ended our regular season as being undefeated in our conference for the 2016 Season. We finished our season 16 - 0 overall!!! We finished our Last Football Season (2015 Season), with a record of 9-4. We were also Conference Champions last year for the Mid-State 2A Division.

As a rising college freshman, when I look back over my high school senior year "football experience," I can say that I was definitely a leader on the Reidsville High School Football Team. We had many leaders on our team, as well as, a great group of guys who were all "Team Players." All great teams know from experience, that there is no "I" in "Team." In order to win, everyone must do their job and do it very well! Most of the guys on my team have been playing together, either on the same team or on an opposing team, against each other, every since we were 3 years old.  We all started out playing little league football with "The City of Reidsville Recreation Department. " The City of Reidsville is known as "The Football Capital of the State of North Carolina." People who live in Reidsville know exactly what that means..... "WE," the players, the coaches, the parents, the schools (Elementary, Middle, High School), and the community, live, breathe, sleep and eat...."FOOTBALL!" Through the commitment of ourselves, our coaches (School Coaches and Little League Coaches), and our parents, we (myself and my team members) evolved into Champions for the Football Capital of NC!!!!

It has always been my personal goal and intention to work hard each and every day to perfect my knowledge and skills of the game, so that I would contribute to our team goal of winning another NCHSAA State Championship. I am so proud and so happy that we accomplished this goal!! Reaching this goal was such a great feeling!! I will cherish the memories of our 2016 undefeated football season forever, as we have made Reidsville High School history by winning our school's 19th NCHSAA 2A State Championship, as well as, by making history within the State of NC for winning the most State Championships of any High School within the State of North Carolina!!!  "WOW, 19 RINGS!!!"

Because of the outstanding past successes of the Reidsville High School Boys’ Varsity Football Program, a resolution was ratified by the General Assembly of North Carolina naming the City of Reidsville, the Football Capital of North Carolina. At the time of the Resolution, the Reidsville High School Football Program led the State in the number of State Championships, having won 16 titles in 21 appearances. Almost all my life, I have been playing football. Every since I started playing football, I knew that one day I would want to take the next step, to play at the collegiate level.  Every time that I have an opportunity, I am working out in the weight room,  on the field and at the track and also at Cross Fit, to condition and strengthen my body.  I am a very hardworking, disciplined player who welcomes constructive criticism and who consistently uses it to better myself as a player. I always listen and respond in a positive manner to my coaches and my team members. I never give up and I never quit until the final whistle blows! It is my personal goal and intention to continue to work hard each and every day to perfect my knowledge and skills of the game and it is my goal and desire to play college football!!!

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME: I have been a member of the band, every since the 6th grade. I play the trumpet. My home church is Elm Grove Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC. I regularly attend church and bible study at my current church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, as well as at a local Christian Fellowship Group in Reidsville, which consists of Reidsville High School Football Athletes. Throughout the year, I regularly volunteer with The Prosperity Christian Resource Center, as well as other organizations, in an effort to assist with local causes in my area.  It gives me great pleasure to know that I am making a difference in my community.

Academically, I am striving hard to keep my grades as high as possible and to do the best that I can do to achieve academic excellence. I am very focused on my performance, on and off the football field and I take my grades, as well as my craft very seriously.  I believe that there is always room for improvement and that I will only get out of life what I put into it. I am a hard worker and I believe that my hard work  will eventually pay off and get me where I want to be in life.  It's never too late to dream. It's never to late to believe in yourself and in your goals in life. When times get hard, faith is always the key to your destiny! I believe that everyone has a purpose and by believing in themselves and in their goals in life, they can succeed! I believe in my self!!! I believe in my dreams, in my goals and in my aspirations!!! I am very determined and I know that I am a winner and that I will succeed!!!

I hope to find the right college that suits me, which offers an opportunity to obtain a superior education, as well as an opportunity to participate in a top quality football athletic program.  I believe that if I continue to do my best and to work hard in the classroom, in the weight room and on the football field, I will be a very valuable asset as a student, and as a player who is ready to go to college and who is ready to play football at the next level.

  • I have been training for football practically all of my life. As a Class of 2017 "Ram Senior" I work very hard while playing the game on the field, in practice, during off-season training workouts, in the weight room and at Cross Fit Reidsville, to improve my craft. In addition to working hard athletically, I strive hard to excel in the classroom, as well.
