I have played football for 10 years and my passion for the game gets stronger every year. I am a 3-year varsity starter on both sides of the ball. During those years, I have played all positions on the offensive and defensive lines. I have been scholar-athlete of the year for my team the past 3 seasons. I also have been the lineman of the year the past 2 seasons. This year I was named a team captain and the most valuable player. My sophomore year, I was named All-District 1st team, honorable mention Metro conference, and honorable mention all-state. Following my junior year, I was named to the All-District 1st team, 2nd team Metro conference, and honorable mention all-state. This year I have again been named to the All-District 1st team. Conference and all-state awards have not yet been announced this year.
Not only do I excel on the football field, but I also excel in the classroom. I am currently ranked #1 in my class of 275 students. I have taken many honors and AP classes. I scored a 25 on my most recent ACT exam and will be taking it again in December.
I have strong leadership skills as I am involved in many school activities, including student council, senior senate, National Honor Society, and was voted senior class vice-president. I participate in varsity basketball, and have previously participated in varsity baseball and band.
I want to play college football for a team that will continue to develop my football skills. I want to use my leadership skills to benefit the team. Most importantly, I want to make a significant contribution to the team, both on the field and off the field, while ultimately earning my degree in engineering.
