Personal Statement
I have played in the Heartland Football League since I was 7 years old. As a starting Offensive Lineman, we won numerous championships throughout my youth football experience. As a freshman in 2014, I was slated to start on the Offensive Line but my season was cut short as I broke my ankle during the first week of practice. I came back stronger than ever, which allowed me to play on the freshman basketball team. At the beginning of my sophomore year in 2015, I started at Defensive Tackle and Offensive Tackle on our JV football team. I also served as a Varsity backup on the Offensive Line which allowed me to receive my first Varsity letter as a Sophomore. During my playing time my Sophomore season, I realized I needed to dedicate myself to the weight room if I was going to improve and help my team the following season. I started lifting on a regular basis and joined our High School Powerlifting team competing in numerous competitions. This year, I started at Center but because of my versatility I also played all Offensive Line positions throughout the season. I was named 1 of 4 captains for my Junior season, voted on by the coaches.
Each summer I have attended football camps including the Dave Rimington football camp, Football University, Kansas State High school Developmental camp, Nebraska Wesleyan High school team camp, and the Mid-America Nazerene camp/combine. Conditioning is very important to me as I workout 5 days per week with our Powerlifting team and/or Football team.
I dedicate myself to my academics participating in AP and other High school classes. My goal during my senior year is to be the best football player and student I can be allowing me to earn a scholarship playing the game I love. I know I have the experience, drive, discipline and commitment to excel on the field and in the classroom. I look forward to earning the opportunity to play for a great football program and receiving an excellent college education.
