Ryan Schommer (2018)
My love for football began at a very young age. I started playing organized youth tackle football through our local YMCA when I was in 3rd grade. I have also attended multiple skills camps over the years both locally and at college campuses throughout the Midwest. My plans for this spring and summer is to attend several "Effective Camps" and Junior Days.
As far as who I am and what has influenced my life, I know I am nothing without my Savior Jesus Christ. My faith and my family (in that order) are the two most important things in my life. I try my best everyday to use my faith as a stable ground when life tries to shake me up. There have been many challenges along the way, such as complicated schedules, small injuries, sometimes falling short of lofty goals, etc. Each and every time that life has thrown obstacles my way, my faith and my family has been what got me through it.
Football has taught me many things. Football has helped me learn that when I work hard, it should and does pay off. I have also learned that through setting goals, being consistent and having patience, a person can achieve those goals. Additionally, the brotherhood that is formed is like none other and I can use playing football as another avenue to glorify God.
My High School goals and career path are pretty set in place for me. I would like my class rank to be in the top 10-15% of the class (Currently in the 18%). As far as my career path, I would like to study Architecture and/or Civil Engineering in college and pursue a career in Business, Architecture or in Civil Engineering but am undecided at this point.
