Nikko hamlin '17 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to earn a college degree so that I can support my self and a family. I hope to be part of a football team while going to school. Being part of a team while in college will allow me to support my school and it will also keep me engaged and focused on my academic responsibilities.

My parents have raised me to be responsible and respectful. As I have gotten older I see that these qualities have a lot to do with the opportunities I have been given. Athletically I have the benefit of being big and I have the drive and determination it takes to do something with the gift I was given.

Academically, I work very hard for the grades I get.  Because of this I learned early on what hard work looks like. My Mom always told me, when I was struggling in class, that everyone is good at something and you will find what you are good at. I kept working hard and pushing through, then I found football. I was built for this game. Because of the academic struggles I had, I already knew what hard work was.  I bring that work ethic to the weight room and the field everyday.
