Personal Statement
I've had a football in my hand since the time I could hold it. All three of my older brothers played football through high school, and it has always been my dream to play at the collegiate level. As a player, I pride myself in my leadership, character, and coachability. Going into my sophomore year, the varsity team had gone winless the past two seasons. This required extreme hard work and determination to try and overcome the failures of the past two seasons. My sophomore season we went 3-8, with me being in the top three point scorers on the team. The next season we went 9-3 and made it to a state championship game. I was the leading point scorer on the team as a junior playing slot, wildcat quarterback, kicker, and punter. I believe my ability to work hard and buy into the program really sets me apart from other athletes. I had a big role in taking an 0-23 team to two years later setting a school record in wins and reaching the first state championship in 10 years. I also play lacrosse and will be a captain this year.
Along with athletics, I pride myself in my ability to succeed in the classroom. I've taken 11 AP classes and honors classes so far at a very difficult high school which was just recently ranked the #1 high school in New Jersey. I plan on taking 4 more AP classes this upcoming year. I have a 3.73 GPA and scored a 34 on my ACT's. My goal is to pursue a degree in business and find a college that has a high academic standard, with a similar athletic standard. I believe no coach would ever regret giving me a chance to prove that I belong on their team.
