Personal Statement
As a young child my parents enrolled me in soccer, baseball, basketball and then flag football I was so excited and then so disappointed. My mom asked me "What was wrong?" as she thought I would just love it when she enrolled me in flag football. I said "I do love it but you didn't tell me I couldn't hit anybody !!" I wasn't truly happy with it until I was able to join the tackle football league and that's when I knew I had a passion for this sport. I know I want to continue playing after high school and have been working hard towards this goal and dream. In one of my Freshman year games an opposing team member purposely stepped on my rib cage while I was down to initially cause injury I had bruised ribs and had a couple of cuts from the cleats and the next day my father asked me "Was it worth it?" I told him "Yes sir it was". My mom rolled her eyes.
I have an extremely strong work ethic am focused, passionate, reliable, honest, coachable, like to be challanged and a leader among my current teammates. I am not easily influenced and I follow the uncommon line which isn't always the popular thing but am respected among the athletes, teachers and coaches. I am very competitive and have won defensive team scout of the week many times my sophomore season. This past season as a sophomore I played on the sophomore squad as a starter, JV "A" as a starter and made the varsity squad as a backup to the senior DE. Size wise I am more suited to a back position but play Defensive End under the current coaching staff as that is their need at this time for the team. We won our 28th State Championship Title this 2014 season which I am very proud to have been a part of, this win puts the Artesia Bulldogs 3rd in the Nation in State Championships. We have an excellent football/athletic program which speaks volumes of our coaching staff and their dedication to the athletes and this program.
Academically I am an excellent student am a member of the National Honor Society and take all honors classes and have carried a 4.0 or higher the last 3 years.
I am a high achiever and desire to have the opportunity to experience everything a quality college and football program has to offer.
