Personal Statement
Hello Coaches, I have spent my high school years playing both offensive and defensive line. My sophomore year I was in the starting rotation. My junior and senior year have been full time, starting at Offensive Tackle and Defensive Tackle. I won Lineman of the year award in my junior year and I'm hoping to do the same in my senior year as well. My high school years have been challenging in some areas academically but I never gave up. This year I have been able to step it up and also received the surrounding support from family, coaches, teachers and my peers. I am putting my 100% best foot forward with my academics so that I can prove to YOU, the people looking at me that I am willing to do what it takes to be successful at the next level. This year I was picked by my teammates to be team captain. I can't explain what that really meant to me, I just knew I wanted to lead by example. Positive attitude, never hanging my head no matter the score. Always picking up my teammates when something went wrong, letting them know we will make up for it the next play. I want to share a memory that I will have with me forever. In my high school career we lost 8 straight games to our number 1 rival, including a championship game. I did not want our season to end with another loss to them. Going into our game versus them this year, there was no talk of the past, only what we had to do that game. Being one of only a few seniors left on the team with memories of the past losses helped. My teammates didn't care about the past games, they were only focused on the present game. That mind set helped me grow as a person and as there captain. I'm happy to say we won that game and I'm winning in the classroom as well. Thank You for visiting my profile!
