Personal Statement
Coach,
I am a 6', 180lb athletic quarterback who has been the fastest kid in my school in San Francisco and the prep school I'm now attending in New Hampshire. Most people consider me an "athletic" QB because of my ability to throw accurately on the run and take off when there's no receiver open. However, I believe my greatest skill is my leadership ability. It comes natural to me but I feel that I obtained it "honestly" through the leaders I've been blessed meet and chat with, whether is it was Bill Walsh or Jim Harbaugh. However, I was a young senior in high school and got the opportunity to receive a Post Graduate year in prep school, which I feel was the greatest experience I've ever had. The "gap" year allowed me to develop futher and not only did I learn to live on my own and meet new friends, I was named captain and took an immediate leadership role.
We had a good year and I feel that I'm a more complete quarterback because the coaching and my teammates were outstanding at the Tilton School. My goal is to continue to play quarterback for a competitive University with great tradition, while earning a degree in broadcasting. Furthermore, I don't drink, smoke or do drugs because those things will not make me a better quarterback, student or role model, which I take very seriously.
I hope this note provides some insight into who I am and what I plan to bring to an institution. I love to compete, lead, make plays and be a part of a positive tradition.
Regards,
Evan Williams
