I started playing football in 5th grade and it really allowed me to prosper. I was always a leader and throughout youth used at any position necessary. In my 7th grade year we won the championship and shut out every team in the tournament. Then in eighth grade I was named a captain and helped lead my team to the championship game once again. I was a leading tackler on a defense that allowed under 40 points through ten games and i was the leading blocker on almost every offensive play.
In my freshman year of high school I started to take on challenging classes and I was successful early on and won the job of 2nd string nose guard and offensive guard. However I missed every game of my freshman year due to a torn acl. In wake of the injury I spent a lot of time in the weight room and put on a lot of muscle and became much more knowledgeable about the game of football.During my sophomore year I started both ways on varsity and swung down with j.v. due to lack of players. Being a varsity starter. I lead the j.v to an undefeated record and to a j.v championship.
Then as a junior I was named captain because of my work ethic both in the weight room and when getting players together to work on fundamentals. I also helped coach our youth programs linemen through their preseason and also early on. After the first two games of the season I was the most reliable blocker and run stopper on our team. After the first quarter of our third game i faced another acl injury and missed the rest of the season. Although being injured I attended every practice and helped run drills for the team. I was able to stand in the booth for our games to be the person our coaches talked to in order to see what was going on. I would help coach the j.v team and call plays for the scout offense at practice.
I have a will to win and a desire to better me and other players, i love seeing a successful football play and I have a great understanding of football concepts and ideologies. This helps me predict what play an offense is running or what move a defender will make when reacting to our play. I feel this insight gives me an ability to be very successful and to defeat my opponent. With suffering these injuries my goal is to play every play like its my last and I will commit myself to your team. My goals after college are to be a football coach and possible a trainer of some sort.
