Hello, my name is Kevin Sears and I am a rising senior and three-year starter for West Morris Central High School. My combined SAT scores are 1650. I plan on retaking the SATs in the fall and anticipate ending the year with a 2.9/3.0 cumulative GPA.
In my sophomore year, I made a major contribution as the starting cornerback for our state championship team. In my junior year, I played all of the skilled positions, with the exception of quarterback (RB, WR, DB).
At the next level, I believe I am best suited for a strong safety or outside will linebacker. I am big enough and strong enough to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. I have the speed, agility and athleticism to cover the tight end down the middle, or blanket the back out of the backfield. However, I also have the skills for a hybrid running back/wide receiver. I run disciplined routes, have great hands, and I am an explosive runner.
I am working hard to sharpen my skills so I can make a contribution to your program. For the past five months, I have trained a minimum of three days a week at Athletic Republic - a specialized speed and agility program. I have added significant muscle to my frame (from 175 to 192) and can easily support another 20 pounds. Despite the additional weight, I run a 4.6 40, 4.3 shuttle, have a 31 in. vertical and an 8.6 standing broad jump. I have been invited to the regional NUC top 100 camp by earning MVP honors for strong safety/outside will linebacker at the NUC combine. Importantly, I fully expect to improve on these numbers by the end of the summer.
I would love the opportunity to work out in front of your coaching staff to show you that while the numbers are good, my football skills are even better. I aspire to play at an elite levels and value the opportunity to speak with you. I am interested in both the athletic and academic benefits you can offer and believe a star athlete should also be a star student.
