Personal Statement
My name is Kenichi Hirose and I am currently a rising senior at Bergen County Techincal High School in Teterboro, NJ. I have only started playing football in my freshman year of high school, but I have deeply fallen in love with the game and consider it my passion to play for as long as I possibly can. During my high school career, football has been a great learning tool to help me better myself not only as an athlete but also a person off the field, as well. Football has taught me that I can achieve anything I want if I continuously work hard, fight adversity, and be committed in whatever it is I do.
Football wise, I have been playing running back at the varsity level ever since my mid-sophomore year, when I scored eight touchdowns that season. With a new wing-T offense my junior year, I started as one of the wing/tail backs and scored 12 touchdowns and over 750 rushing yards. I run a 4.91 40 yard dash and a 4.34 5-10-5 shuttle, so my quickness gives me an advantage many time on the field. However, my toughness and physicality gives me the biggest advantage when I am playing football, not being afraid of any contact and always having that aggressive mentality.
Academically, I attend a high school that is currently one of the top ranked schools in the country at #129, so my academics are taken seriously here. I have around a 3.0 and striving to improve my grades but at the same time challenging myself with tough courses. I received a score of 1700 on my SATs, but also trying to boost that up.
Football is my life and created a huge impact in my life in a very positive way, and I continue to believe in myself and work as hard as I can to be able to play at the next level.
