Personal Statement
My name is Marc Doran and I am a defensive end/ linebacker in the class of 2017. I have a love and passion for the game of football and my dream is to be able to play in college as well as get a great education. From playing football I have learned that there are only two things you have complete control of, your effort and your attitude. Because of this, I’ve become a team leader and my teammates can rely on me to give 100% on every play.
I play for St. Joseph Regional High School in New Jersey, a national recognized team, and will be a three-year starter. My school plays in the Big North United, which was voted toughest conference in the nation. I am currently in my junior season and have 117 career tackles, 25 for a loss, 8.5 sacks and 15 hurries. I take pride in being a leader of my team and that is why you will never see me take a play off. I have a great work ethic and know what it takes to become a better player. In the offseason I train with my team and in addition train at “Freak Strength” to work on my strength and explosiveness. On top of that I train at “Pro E.D.G.E” which is a football specific gym. There I work on my footwork and getting my hands better.
As a student I take my academics very seriously. I currently have a 3.6/4.0 GPA while taking honor level classes and am consistently on the Honor Roll. I aspire to play for a school that is both strong in academics and athletics.
I am focused on being a leader on and off the field and am always looking for ways to improve. I have a work ethic that is second to none and want to be the best I possibly can. I am open to any college that is a good fit for me academically and has a strong competitive football program.
