Personal Statement

I am a Senior at Verona High School, Verona, NJ. I start at Tight End, Defensive End, and Long Snapper, rarely coming off the field, and have been named a Captain. I earned a letter Freshman year and started Sophomore year at DE. Last year I led our team in receiving and sacks and was named 2nd Team All-SEC Conference on Offense. As a team we went 5-3 in a tough conference and we upset the undefeated 2 seed in the state sectional playoffs. In the classroom I have a 3.64 GPA and take Honors and AP courses, I have been on the Honor Roll all three years and scored a 30 on my ACT.

Football has been in my life for as long as I can remember and I LOVE it. My twin brother, Frank, and I started playing in 3rd grade and have enjoyed every moment of it. He has been our starting QB since Freshman year. As a kid I was normally bigger than everyone else but also game smarter. I remember trying to install things like blitzes between me and my teammates before the coaches told me they're not ready for that kind of stuff. I am a very level-headed and intelligent player who relies on my pregame scouting and instincts to be in the right spot at the right time. I will give up anything for my team to get a win because in the end, that's all that matters. Nothing hurts more than losing, especially when you compete as much as I do. I dressed Varsity Baseball Freshman year but in my Sophomore year I switched to golf, as an 8 handicap. As for basketball, I play forward and center and have been on Varsity for two years.

My goals this upcoming year are to improve as a football player and bring Verona a State Championship. My main objective this offseason is to put on weight and become faster, along with being a leader for my teammates on and off the field. As for college, my dream is to play football at a high level and earn a quality degree. I am very interested in business, economics, real estate and the stock market. I am willing to play any position for a coach who needs me, I'll do whatever it takes to get on the field.
