Personal Statement

My Name is Chris Kuykendall, I play two sports Football, and Track. Over the years I have had the fortune of playing many different positions. I played Defensive Tackle for two years Freshmen and sophmore year, I played Bull(Outside Linebacker) My junior year. Now at the end of my junior year season my coach moved me to inside linebacker. I've adapted to this position very well, because with all my position experience combined I can visualize what is in front of me from every angle of the field almost. I've made Player of the week once every year. Starting my sophmore year when I got my first varsity playing time, I made player of the week our second round of the playoffs. Then coming onto my junior year I made player of the week for special teams, and also defensive player of the week. I consider myself a leader on and off of the field , I keep my teammates motivated I try to keep spirits high even in the midst of defeat. I make sure we work as a unit, football is not a one man sport it takes all 11 men on that field with you to  achieve greatness, to achieve victory. One man cannot win the game for the other 10. I recently started a very successful bullying program called "Eagle Buddies" in which we go talk to bullied kids and give them a mentor and someone to always be able to go to in a time of need and just give them a best friend in general. Our Program has worked it's way from the ground up and we are now helping kids from every school in our community. I was also on The Meredith Vieira Show because of this program that I started. Due to the show I have helped high schools all over the United States to implement this program in their communities. I don't consider myself a follower, I like to do things the right way. No shortcuts, no loopholes just hard work and dedication. My outlook on my future in football is very high. I don't expect to immediately go to college and be a 1st string linebacker. I want to work my way up from the ground up and build my own foundation, my own legacy and be the most functional and easygoing player on the team. Someone who's willing to do anything to help his team achieve the one thing we all want to achieve.. Victory.

    • I started an anti-bully program in our school called The Eagle Buddy Program. The Eagle Buddy Program is a group of volunteer high school students who go have lunch with younger children whom are being bullied. I had the honor of being on The Meredith Vieira Show last year to highlight this accomplishment. I have helped create this program in High Schools all across the U.S. and in a few colleges.
