Personal Statement

I am back on the Market, Coach K is leaving Mount Union where I was playing football, I am since looking to transfer. I have already unenrolled from Mount Union and seeking other options.

My Future goals for the next level are to compete and to excel at any and everything that I do. My main focus would be to play football and to get a degree in Marine Biology or Biology. I believe that the key components that make me a candidate for your team are: I am a leader, hard worker, coachable, and a competitor. Not only do I require those attributes but I preform to the best of my ability and beyond when striving to be the best. The thing that makes me unique is that I'm a well rounded athlete, that can handle adversity.  It is important that I be the person that I am capable of being and others know I can be. I also do the same in the class because it is who I am and Academics will get me farther than any sport.

The Raiders ended the season with an 8-0 record while averaging 44.5 points per game and allowing 5.0. The only close game was the opener, an 8-2 win over Rockingham Middle. Each team in the conference (which also included Western Rockingham, Eden Holmes and Yanceyville Dillard) played each other twice. Click here! The Raiders were led for the 11th consecutive season by head coach Reggie Chestnut. His assistants were David Lawson, Calvin Simpson, Mike Burchell, Anthony Mansfield, Andre Williams, Randolph Galloway and Brian Knowles. Quarterback Titus Jones threw two touchdown passes to Adan Mendoza and one to Christian Capps in the season-ending victory. Capps and Jalen Easley added rushing touchdowns. Throughout the season, the Raiders got great play from the offensive line that included Cole Setliff, Logan Willard, Anthony Slade, Alec Robertson, David Lawson and Jamal Herbin. The skill set included Jones, Mendoza, Capps, Easley, John Johnson, Sam Youst and Isaac Hill. The defensive line starters, including those who rotated in, were Jerry Mitchell, Mikal Carter, Lawson and Robertson. The linebackers were Willie Blackstock, Townsend, Capps and Johnson while the secondary included Hill, Youst, Cameron Galloway and Dajour Tatum. The RMS roster included 42 players, 20 of those seventh graders. Lawson, Willard, Reynolds and Herbin were the starters from the seventh grade class. Chestnut said his line had good size with good height but didn’t carry the pounds of the previous edition. Robertson was the biggest starter at 6-1, 215. The Raiders have compiled a 29-1 record the last four years and have eight championships in Chestnut’s 11 seasons at the helm. There have been just four losses in that period.
