Jake Covert '17 Recruiting Profile

I start on the Varsity team as a Junior at left guard, and have played every offensive snap this season. I started as a sophomore as well. We run a spread offense with a zone-blocking scheme on the offensive line. I put maximum effort into everything I do, putting in the extra time every day to make myself the best player I can be. I have received recognition from the coaching staff for my play, and was recognized with All-Conference honors my sophomore year and am a pre-season All-Region selection this year. I am also a black belt in Tae Kwon-do.
At the completion of my sophomore year, I obtained a 3.91 weighted GPA, am on the honors diploma track, and earned an academic letter for maintaining a 3.75 or high GPA for consecutive semesters. For my junior year, I am continuing honors or AP classes and anticipate maintaining a high GPA.
My goal is to continue competing both athletically and academically, playing at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree. Currently my interest lies in a health care related field or law. While I realize that these are different areas of interest, I am exploring the opportunities that these areas of study would provide.
