Personal Statement
What makes me stand out compared to the rest of the athetes out there is that I've had an extremley unconventional road to get to this point. I was a solid high school athlete but due to growing up in a single parent household with my father I was left with little guidance and went down a bad path. This bad path ultimatley led to the Marine Corps, which I served 4 years including a 9 month deployment to Afghanistan. During my time in the Marines I participated in many athletic events, always being one of the better athletes at whatever sport I was competing in. I played tight-end at Pace University last year where I improved leaps and bounds over the course of the year and I definitley feel that if I was to return for another year, I would've earned myself a starting position somewhere.
Although I have good naturaul athletic ability, I feel that my best attribute is my work eithic and discipline, as well as being older and having life experience. I enjoyed mentoring younger players on the team last year and being one of the guys that my teamates looked up to. I've always been a hard worker and I make the little sacrifices everyday to better myself as an athlete. I do not expect anything to be handed to me, I'm looking for a shot to show everyone what I can do.
