Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First and foremost I love football. I have been playing tackle football since the 3rd grade. I began my football career playing on a Pop Warner team in Eastchester, NY. I learned early on that it was a sport that required a lot of hard work and commitment. We practiced every night for a month before our first game. Our season was very long and we played tough teams. Then I played for my school’s team starting in 5th grade. I liked playing with my classmates and being on a team with them brought us closer together. I have had great experiences at IMG Academy’s summer football camp. Coach Myers, told me I had a great feel for the game, solid technique and leadership skills. I would make sure my teammates who were new to the program knew all the plays and what the jargon Coach Myers and the other coaches used. I have had different roles on teams such as third string, and second string. I studied and worked hard to make first string at every level. Now, I am the starting defensive tackle as well as starting left offensive tackle on my Junior Varsity High School team. During my JV season I was brought up to compete at the Varsity level, the only 9th grader to do so, and have been playing at the varsity level as a starter since the 10th grade. I also compete in Shot Put and Discus at the varsity level, successfully scoring in the top 10 in every meet. I won Leagues and Sectionals in both Shot Put and Discus and voted MVP of the Men's Team. I really like the field events and would like to compete at the college level as well.
As a student, my favorite subject is social studies. I especially like learning about the 20th century, because there were so many innovations that impacted people’s lives and the changes were so dramatic compared to the prior century. Personally I feel it’s the most interesting time in the history of the United States. I see myself achieving great success academically at high school. I currently have a 3.0 GPA. My weakest subject is math. I have worked tirelessly to achieve better results in math and have continued to raise my grade every year.
I hope to take my passions for all aspects of the game and transfer that to a successful college career, both on the field and towards my goals academically. I am ready.
