Hello. I would like to take the oppritunity to thank you for stopping by my recruiting profile. As you may or may not know my name is Raheem Williams. What football was for me when I was 7 years old was something fun to do. When I started taking it seriously my freshman year, it became a passion. As time goes on, I become more and more amorous toward this LIFESTYLE. This lifestyle has taught me how to deal with adversity, how to work in a group setting and how to take advantage of any given situation.
As a player, I don't feel like I am only good enough for one position. What I "bring to the table" so to speak is that versitality that most players just can and will not. When I first joined, I wanted to play Wide Reciever and only Wide Reciever. So my first year, I only played wideout. The needs of the team changed because several athletes of our team graduated. The next season I played Safety, Cornerback and Wideout. The season after that, this season, I was placed at Outside Linebacker, Middle Linebacker, Strong Safety, Defensive End, Slot Reciever, Wide Reciever and Running Back. I am also the backup QB. Another thing I contribute is leadership. On my team, people viewed me as a captain and respected me along with the things I asked them to do. But just because I was on that "pedistal", that doesn't mean that I didn't shoot respect right back at them. One of the last things that comes with Raheem is tenacity, hard work, and persistance.
As a person, I absolutely LOVE a challenge. The difficulty of certain tasks gives me more motivation than usual. I like adversity. People underestimate me because of my size for my position. People underestimate me because of the team I play for. People underestimate me because of my numbers which are only going up. People even underestimate me for no reason. I can proudy say that I have embarassed them on the football field. I am looking forward to the challenge of finding a school that is willing to challenge me BOTH academically and athletically. I am also looking forward to the challenge of LEADING a program to excellence. But more importantly, I am looking forward to graduating from a prestigious school.
