Personal Statement
I am interested in a college that balances academic success, athletic development and allows me to continue my personal growth. My strengths in Math, Science, Computers and problem solving, leads me to believe that a degree in Engineering and/or IT is a perfect fit for me. Both of these fields have boundless opportunities.
I am surrounded by athletes in my home. From both of my parents to both of my older siblings. Passion and competition is in the air every day at my house. My sister went to college on a basketball scholarship while my brother chose to attend a college on an academic scholarship. I have big shoes to fill and totally plan on filling them and then some. The difference for me will be to attend a school that not only wins a National Championship in football, but develops me to reach my aspiration of one day playing in the NFL.
When I was in 8th grade we had several High School coaches speak to my team either after practice and/or games. These coaches challenged us to put God first. I have been Blessed to have been chosen to attend a prestigious High School that promotes personal growth in a relationship with God. I am excited to say that every day I am open to growth, I work hard to become intellectually competent, learn and understand the practices of the Catholic church, build on my relationship with our community, become a responsible member of society and promote social justice. I am proud to say I am a "Man For Others"
Sports have given me the opportunity to challenge myself physically and mentally. Which are things I used to take for granted. Now, with my father's recent diagnosed of Multiple Sclerosis and my younger cousin who was born with Down Syndrome, I am seeing on a daily basis how to persevere and how to make the best out of every situation. Having these two in my life has afforded me tremendous perspective and to not take anything for granted. To receive a Football Scholarship would pave a way for a career and the opportunity to play football beyond High School.
