Personal Statement

I aspire to be the best student athlete that I can possibly be. I attended one of America's premier academic all-boy's high school's my freshman and sophomore year; St. Charles Preparatory School, located in Columbus, Ohio. The 75th percentile ACT at St. Charles is 28, and I certainly anticipate doing just as well as my former classmates. In July 2016, I transferred to St. Francis DeSales, a co-ed Catholic High School, also in Columbus, for my junior and senior season.  St. Francis DeSales also has very high academic standards and historically a very competitive football program as well, and I expect that will continue.

My junior season @ DeSales has started out very well.  Academically, I had a 3.7 GPA in my first quarter, and I am working hard to improve in my studies.  As for football, we went 13-1 and lost in the State semi-final 23-14 against the eventual state champion (Akron Hoban). After starting varsity at weak side DE for my first two years, this year I moved to the strong side.  I felt like my transition went very well.  Starting all 14 games on defense, I finished the season with 34 solo tackles, 38 assisted tackles, 8 tfl's, 3.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 pass break ups and 48 quarterback pressures.  I work out (lifting and agilities) consistently  continuing to get stronger and gaining solid weight. I am 6'3.5", and I played in the 8th grade at 174 lbs, 200 lbs in the 9th grade, 215 lbs in the 10th grade, and this year at 232 lbs, which is still undersized for our Div 1/2 schedule. I anticipate playing my senior season at 245-248 lbs. . Coupled with the weight gain, I intend to work on my speed (40-4.94 laser), my other measurables (broad-9.3 ft, vertical jump-29 inches, and my 5 yard cone drill-4.54.) In addition to my academic and athletic pursuits, I want to work on my team/leadership skills over the next couple of years. I have a lot of opportunity to become a strong, vocal leader on my current team, and would like to work on being the most supportive teammate that I can become. In college, I would like to pursue academics and football at the highest possible level. At this time, I think I would like to pursue a degree in business, specializing in Finance or Business Management, or possibly engineering.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
