Growing up, I would always find myself in the basement watching my dad's old Ohio State game film; however, it is not until now where I truly appreciate everything that I was taught. It's nearly an entire mentality shift – I remember in elementary and middle school I would constantly tell myself it can't be that hard. Now, as I get ready to strap up the pads for my final season, it's the absolutely opposite that has emerged as the truth.
Despite the five workouts per week and the 5,000 calories per day, it isn't guaranteed. I find myself up late stressing out about whether I'll find a place to play at the next level, and as the days go by I become more and more anxious. It's scary – there's nothing more in life that I want than to play college football at the Division I level.
I want my future coaches to understand that wherever I end up, I'm always the first player on the field and the last player off; I don't allow myself to be of any dissatisfaction to my coaches. Football is literally in my genes, and I will stop at nothing to tap the potential that will make me a Division I ball player.
