Personal Statement
Being a part of the team has meant more to me more than just the game of football. My teammates are my family, the locker room feels like a home away from home, and the atmosphere is electric. I want to play at the next level because I’m not ready to give up this part of my life yet. I’ll confess that I’ve been inconsistent in my academics during some parts of my high school career, especially during my junior year. However, I feel like I’ve demonstrated as a senior that I can be serious as a student, and so far this fall I have all A’s and B’s. I regret that I wasn’t as serious as I should have been the whole time, and I am working hard to make my grades my top priority.
Last summer, I had an experience that changed my life. I had the opportunity to study for 3 weeks in Germany as part of an exchange program through my school, and it opened my eyes to how I like to learn about other cultures and languages, as well as world history. I would love to have the opportunity to study abroad in college. I have also served on Student Council three of the past four years and I am currently the Student Body Sergeant-at-Arms. My experiences in student council have helped me become involved in my community, and to develop my interpersonal and leadership skills.
