I am a very optimistic person. I believe anything can be achieved through hard work and dedication. One of my goals is to always be the hard working and dedicated person. I know that sometimes I will fall short of my goals but as the saying goes "7 times down, 8 times up" I will never give up. When I do fail I shake it off and look at what I did wrong, then I fix it. Striving for success, I will fix it as many times as need be.
My life goals are pretty simplistic in my eyes. First I intend to graduate with honors. Maintaining a G.P.A. of 3.5 or above when that day comes when I walk away from school for the last time. As I look after high school, I want to PLAY at a college of at least a D3 level. I capitalized "PLAY" in the previous sentence to emphasize the fact that I intend to play in college, not to sit on the bench, and I will do everything I can to get the starting job. My goal is to catch the coach's eye, on any team I play on. Whether it be in high school, NAIA, D3, or anything else. I want to always catch the coach's eye. Not only do I want to catch my coach's eye, but also the opposing coach's eye as well. I want him to think to himself after the game that his players should play like me, whether my team won or loss. Another thing that I strive to be is a leader. So far on every team I have played on I have been a leader. I strive to be that guy that pumps the team up before the game, and when the game is on the line. Also, I strive to lead by example. Words are great but, action speaks louder than words.
In the school aspect of college I intend to study to become a math teacher. I would like to be one of those teachers that not only teach, but coach as well. I want to do this because I am in karate. Right now I am a 2nd degree blackbelt in Aki-te-ryu karate. As I was high in rank I taught a lot, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So, I relate this in the class room and I would be happy with my life knowing that I can get up and go teach someone about math. Also, in karate as I taught, when I saw everybody working hard, sweat dripping from their head and they are exhausted, then I see that hard work pay off....there is no better feeling than that. That is why I want to be a coach. That, and I love football.
These are my goals. I know I will reach most of them because I was raised to give 110% all the time and to NEVER give up. Thank you for time reading this, I hope that I have sparked an interest in you with my goals. Hopefully, one day I will get to show you that I really do have a great work mentality because all I have done so far was write down words. And as I said, actions speak louder than words.
Thank you,
Mason J. Gauden
