Personal Statement
Upon graduating high school, I plan to attend a college on an athletic scholarship. A college that provides a good academic program as well as a strong athletic program. Academics should come first for everyone, and that is how it is for me. I participate in several school related organizations such as: National Honor Society, Relay for Life, and Ruriteens. These organizations work in the community and help others. For a year now I have been involved in helping young kids from the age of 6-13 years old practice the game of baseball at a local indoor baseball facility. I do all this and still maintain a 3.9 GPA and play football and baseball. Because of this success off the field, I am able to be successful on the field too. I started as a catcher for my High School baseball team as a freshman, therefore establishing a leadership position on the team at a fairly young age. As for football, I became the starting QB half way through the season my sophomore year, and then my entire junior year. This past fall I helped lead our team to a regional semifinal appearance and an ITCL Championship title. The past 2 years as quarterback, I have been blessed and had the great honor of having great teammates who helped me break several school records: The longest passing TD from scrimmage, most TD passes in a game- 4 (I did this twice), most TD passes in a season – 20, and I am currently ranked 3rd in all-time passing yards in a season. I have lettered in each sport since I was a freshman. I received 1st team league selections for both football and baseball. I have accomplished much through hard work and dedication; attributes I intend on applying in college to my academics and sport.
