Personal Statement
I would describe myself as a dedicated hardworking student athlete who has a love and a passion for the game of football. I started playing football when I was 7 years old. My dad would soak my water Nerf football to make it heavy and we would throw the ball back and forth every day after school. He would tell me that was going to make my arm strong and the ball feel like a feather when I threw it. That began my passion to play quarterback. I started playing “pee wee” football as a quarterback. I moved on to a travel rec team in Maryland and due to my height/weight I was used at the offensive/defensive line. My final year with rec I played wide receiver; we won the championship that year! I started as the quarterback my freshman year on Junior Varsity and by mid-year of my sophomore year; I was starting quarterback for the Varsity team at Dulaney High School in Maryland. That year I was recognized as All County All Division First Team Quarterback. My last year playing at Dulaney HS during my junior year our record was 5-5 and that was the first time the HS had achieved that good of a record in over a decade. I also was recently recognized in Maryland as being one of the top 165 Varsity football players of 2017. My family relocated to Ohio where my father is originally from. I have transferred as a senior to Warren G. Harding High School. Although Harding has an established 4 STAR athlete as their quarterback; I earned the role of the 2nd string quarterback position and also playing linebacker at times. Although challenging coming from playing starting quarterback, I have used this time to work on my strength, agility, and speed while preparing myself for the next level. I hope to be given the opportunity to continue my passion and love for the game at the next level. I’m a leader by nature, a quarterback at heart but I’m also a team player and open to play other positions.
