Personal Statement
As I approach the end of my high school career and prepare for the college years ahead, I have begun to set many goals for myself. My mindset is to be an exceptional student-athlete, with an emphasis on 'student'. I always bring the same drive and determination to the classroom as what I display on the field every afternoon at practice and on game days. My understanding that the education I will receive over the next four years is going to prepare me for a career that will shape my future will be the drive that pushes me to maintain the highest GPA possible while also excelling on the field.
My character is built from the people that I choose to surround myself with. Without my teammates and friends, my ability to continuously better myself on and off the field would be greatly hindered. They push me to be the best person and player that I can, and strive to do the same for them. I want to be remembered as a role model and a leader by my peers, coaches, teachers, and younger kids who look up to me.
From an athletic standpoint, my performance on the field speaks for itself. I know that there is always room for improvement, which keeps me driven to do the necessary work when no one is watching or cheering and to push my teammates to do the same. I pride myself on being coachable, which has allowed me to continuously grow and evolve as a player over my entire career. I'm looking forward to bringing that same coachability and drive to do the extra work to whichever college I choose to attend, and I am excited for my opportunity to take my abilities to the next level.
