Personal Statement
Reaching the Ohio division 4 state semifinal after my Junior season has been the most important and defining moment so far of my high school football career. Even with the bittersweet ending of a tragic loss, the team and I were able to prove that we were more than just a good team that was lucky to be there. I felt myself rise and mature as a player and leader deciding to attempt to lead my teammates instead of doubting them which after the conclusion of our regular season much of the community had begun to partake in. With the conclusion of my junior season, I was hungrier to succeed more than ever. I was able to prove to myself and my teammates what we could accomplish as long as we worked together with the right leadership, support, and work ethic.
I felt my self grow immensely during the offseason before the beginning of my senior football season as a student-athlete. I undertook the role of a senior leader on and off the football field, helping lead the younger players to help prepare them for what lays ahead in their future seasons. I have been named as one of my team's captains for my efforts and am looking to continue being a leader and offensive lineman at the next level.
As well as being a leader on the football field, I have been viewed and recognized as a leader in the classroom and community. I have been inducted into my school's chapter of the National Honors Society and I am a member of my local FFA chapter. During my Junior year, I was recognized at the Ohio FFA state convention for being a state finalist for my Agriscience fair project.
I am looking for a school and program that is competitive and will challenge me both athletically and academically. I believe that I am capable of playing and learning at the next level and look forward to taking my hard work, dedication, and commitment on to help impact and support your school's program. As a captain on both my track and football teams, I know I have what it takes to help your team be successful in the future to come.
