Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Logan Ranft and it’s my dream to go to college, be a collegiate athlete and to graduate with a degree. I come from a blended family where everyone is supportive of the person I am today and who I want to be someday. I have lived with my father my entire life and he is not only a great dad, but a very strong role model. My dad had a good athletic career in high school, his abilities transferred to me and contribute to my talent. We also have a very athletic family, which has made me interested in sports, especially football. We follow college football as well as professional teams, both inspire me to be the best that I can be when I am out playing on the field. My sophomore year we went to regional finals but fell short in going to the state finals. This was an awesome experience, and even though we lost, it gave me a stronger determination to work on my opportunities and to come back my junior year bigger, better and stronger.
I have been playing football since I was in middle school. Football has been special to me because I love being part of a team, working hard, working out, focusing on the ball, and working well with my teammates. I am amazed at how quickly the game goes and how plays can turn on a dime and that I am a part of that process. I love to win, and I know it takes hard work and determination to get there. Most days you will find me working out, looking at film and studying playbooks. I also work a part-time job, this has allowed me to face a different responsibility and what it means to work even harder to get what I want.
I am a mentor to younger kids who are athletes. I really like working the camps and being a part of their growth. I have younger siblings and I believe that is why I’m a magnet to younger kids, they say they want to grow up and be like me (their words not mine). I am humbled by some of the experiences and chats that I have had with these kids.
I know what it means to have an education and that playing football is not forever. Getting an education is very important to me. My long-term interests involve personal training, and helping others build their bodies to become superior athletes (or fix what might be broken). Being a part of a team’s health and sustainability would be something of interest to me.
I am a tough, fast, and smart player that understands what it means to play hard and stay humble. I am highly coachable, and I know how to accept constructive criticism. My #1 passion is football. I want to play and I want to perform. Put that football in my hand and I have one goal and one goal only…THE END ZONE!
