Personal Statement
Note: I have committed to play football for Boston College. Go Eagles!
“Tough times don’t last, tough people do” is written across one of my football coaches massive biceps. This quote exemplifies what I am on the football field as well in the classroom, tough and durable.
In today’s society, it is easy for one to just coast through life and not live up to one’s potential due to laziness. As a student athlete however, I hold myself to a much higher standard and try to get the best out of myself each and every day. This translates both in the classroom and on the football field. My head coach, Joel Cutler, would describe me as a hard worker, an intuitive learner, and a very coachable player. I have a great relationship with all of my coaches as they legitimately care for me as a person rather than just another football player. Having those relationships makes grinding through 2-a-days and lifting everyday much more enjoyable.
Not only am I a hard worker I also am extremely passionate player that loves every moment of the friday nights. The brotherhood that I share with my teammates is unmatched anywhere else, thus making those friday night lights even more enjoyable.
Now by the end of this statement, you are most likely thinking to yourself, “I have heard all of this before. What makes Jackson Ness standout from everyone else?” One word: Heart. When I step on the field I play every rep as though it is my last. That is the edge I need at the end of the 3rd quarter, headed into the final stage of the battle; that is where true leaders are born. And I was born to lead.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a great day!
