Personal Statement
I want to attend a college where I can get a strong academic, social, and moral foundation, have opportunities to lead, to serve, and grow, and still make time to play sports and be competitive and disciplined. I'm the player coaches love to coach: I'm smart, I'm attentive, I listen, I learn my plays, I'm positive, I'm encouraging, I'm disciplined, I'm self-motivated, I'm on time, I'm respectful, and I work hard no matter the circumstances. I believe what sets me apart as an athlete is my strong academic foundation, growing up in a home where school comes first and sports come later. I'm in all honors classes at a challenging prep school, I play three sports (football, basketball, and track), and I also am an All-State choir member, and perform in musicals at school. I'm active in my church and serve as an Acolyte at school. I'm young for my grade, so I've always been around older students and gravitated towards those who are bigger, stronger, more mature, and more disciplined. I'm the first one on the field to encourage my teammates and the first one to turn around and get the crowd engaged. I'm eager, disciplined, have natural size and ability that can be molded, and I'm not afraid of hard work. I try to live my life above reproach and when I mess up, I admit it openly and readily and explain what I will do differently to not make the same mistake again. I'm truthful, respectful, compassionate, and work to earn the respect of my teachers, coaches and teammates.
