My ability to over come adversity sets me apart from other athletes. I may be physically strong, but I am stronger mentally. I always have that drive in me to get past the hardest part of my task, whether it is in the classroom, my home, or on the field. My work ethic is beyond other athletes. I go out to practice with the mentality that I might never get to come back out here and play the game I love so much. And that's why I go out there and go to my full potential every second I am on the field. Whether it is on offense, defense, or special teams. I give it my full 110% not just for myself but for my teammates and coaches to give us the best chance of winning as possible.
I am also a three sport athlete. I play football, baseball, and I wrestle. If I am not on the gridiron, the diamond, or on the mats I am in the gym or weight room getting stronger and working on all the little things. I started on a state championship wrestling team as a freshman. And I know what it takes to be on a championship team. And I am always pushing myself and my teammates to get to that point so we can be a champion once again. Playing these three sports I never have time off, which is good because, I love always being busy and it keeps me out of any trouble I could possibly get into.
One of my older brothers is special needs. His name is Kody and he is 19. Because of him I am very involved in the Special Olympics. I have been a peer advocate for the last four years. As a peer advocate they pair me up with one of the athletes, the athlete I am paired up with his name is Ryan. Ryan and I have competed in unified bowling, softball, and bocce ball. He sometimes gets really competitive, if I don't put the ball in the right spot in bocce ball, or don't bowl good enough he gets all mad at me and starts to coach me up. The Special Olympics have changed my life. It has showed me that you can never put yourself in front of others in anything you do. And it is a great service to be a part of something as great as this. I also have a little sister, her name is Kaylee and is 11 years old. I am very protective of her no matter the circumstances, this helps me on the football field stick up for my teammates in sticky situations. My sister is involved with softball, basketball, and runs track. She always asks me to go outside and shoot baskets with her, play catch, go for a run, and etc. I am all for this because I want the best for my sister and want her to be the best athlete she can be.
I love the game of football so much, I could never not see myself being around it. It would truly be an honor to get to play college football somewhere on an athletic scholarship. I would never take anything for granted and show all of my coaches the reason they gave me the scholarship in the first place.
I would love to be apart of a championship winning team, but in all reality any team that gives me a shot will be the real champions in my eyes. I just want to go out and go to war with my brothers and create friendships that will last a lifetime.
