Personal Statement
I've never been more happy in my life than with a football in my hand. I live and breathe football. I'm a film junkie and can't seem to learn enough about the game. In a sense, there is no off season for me; I take every opportunity I have to improve my craft. As a leader, I strongly believe in the "lead by example" way of doing things and I strive to show my teammates and coaches that I work harder than anyone else. However, that doesn't mean I can't get vocal with my team when the time calls for it.
I didn't start growing a lot until I was pretty old, so as a kid I learned to use my technique and mind to beat otherwise superior athletic talent. Even now I'm still considered slightly undersized, but it doesn't matter to me. I believe that I make up for that in my work ethic, knowledge of the game and precision with the ball. I also pride myself on my ability to make plays when everything seems to have broken down.
My family has always been extremely important to me. I'm blessed to have come from a loving family that supports me in everything I do. My strong love of my family extends to my teammates and coaches as well. I'm 100% committed to them and I believe loyalty is everything. I currently coach a fifth grader a few times a week on basic footwork and fundamentals of the position. It's a great opportunity for me to not only learn how to coach, but to review and learn the game from a different perspective. I also volunteer with my church and youth group with various service opportunities.
I'm looking for a program that provides me with a great opportunity to learn, grow and perform at the quarterback position. I want to be able to truly become a student of the game. Academics are also extremely important to me. I'm looking for a school with great and fairly selective academics that can help me further my education so I can not only become an elite athlete, but an elite student as well.
