Personal Statement
My collegiate goals and aspirations are to obtain a degree that leads to a profession in which I will enjoy doing forever; a profession in which I serve others, specifically serving those who serve our country. My life goal is to be happy doing what I love.
As a farm and ranch kid, I know first hand the value of hard work and responsibility. Being tough and strong takes on a different meaning when dealing with horses and cattle, that most kids wouldn't understand. As a rodeo athlete, my successes are not motivated by a coach, rather intrinsically, where I hold myself accountable for practicing. This intrinsic motivation leaks into my football practice as well, striving to go above and beyond coach's expectations. Additionally, training horses and being able to read their behavior and guiding them to be their best has given me a unique skill to analyze players behaviors and predict their movements.
Academically, I am on the Honors path, taking AP courses for college credit. I enjoy being challenged in the classroom. I am a member of a district-wide student athlete leadership board called S.A.L.T, a group that works to improve the work ethic, morale, spirit, and positive camaraderie of our student athletes. When I have spare time, I enjoy the simple things in life like playing my guitar, camping, hunting and doing leather work.
