Personal Statement

My name is Justin Peace and I have been playing football for 6 years. I attend South Salem High School in Oregon. I am in the International Baccalaureate organization diploma program which are honor classes. I have always had good grades from 4.0 to my lowest being 3.0. At this time in my life, I would love to major in physical therapy or computer programming when I go to college. I am a leader as I have been team captain almost every year that I have played football as well as in the classroom.
When I first started playing football I was a little chunky lineman who was pretty strong for never working out a day in my life. But I wanted to be stronger and I wanted to be faster. I didn't want to play lineman so I started really getting into fitness. I started doing push ups everyday as many times as I could and I started getting bigger and less chunky. My dad gave me his 50 lb stack dumbbells and I kept getting bigger. By the time my second season of football came I was introduced to defensive end. I was a lot faster than before. When I entered 8th grade, I introduced sprints into my routine. I felt myself getting even faster. During that 8th grade season of football, I was still playing defensive end and I asked my coach if I could try running back. Since I was big, I went to fullback. That year I scored a minimum of 8 touchdowns out of 6 games and multiple 1st downs. During my freshman season I played mostly defensive end, a bit of tight end and a good amount of linebacker as well. That summer, I went to the Western Oregon University full contact football camp.  I played running back, I had made 2 touchdowns on my first and only plays during that camp. I played linebacker and defensive end during the majority of the camp. I received a "most valuable linebacker " award and I was asked too fill out contact information for Western Oregon University.

I would be a great candidate for any team because of my determination and desire to always improve in everything that I do and to be a good role model for my teammates and peers. My grades always come first. My passion for football is so great that it sometimes can keep me up at night. Now I'm not saying that this is a good thing, but it does show how important football is to me.
