Personal Statement

In the next twelve months I will make many decisions that will effect the rest of my life. I am excited and fully prepared to make these life changing decisions. My parents have given me a strong work ethic and a solid moral compass to make these decisions.
As I enter my senior year I am excited with the expectations I have put upon myself. My goals for this year are to maintain a 3.9 GPA or above. Become active in Student government and to be active in planning a successful senior year. My football goals are to lead a very young team to a region title. To win a District 10 title for my school, which will be the first in 10 years. Obtain a scholarship to a competitive college program. Also to graduate with honors in the top 15 in my class.

My main goal entering my collegiate career would be to attain a Masters degree in Engineering. Prior to this point I have attained a high level of success through hard work and many hours of study in academics. When entering a classroom, I approach it like a competition, I strive to be the best. Education is an opportunity to expand the man that I am today into a leader tomorrow. With a Masters in Engineering my future would be filled with many opportunities for success.
Another goal of mine would be to play college football at a high level and to help my team win. The saying goes; "winning isn't everything", but in my opinion winning is the only thing. Winning starts in the off season by dedicating yourself to the weight room and working out. My junior year in high school I started a position workout program, I took the other lineman under my wing and I hold them accountable in the weight room. Then I got together with other leaders in other positions on the team and had them do the same thing with their position. I keep reminding the underclassmen why we are here and of our goal to be the best and win. One thing that sets me apart from other recruits would be my field presence. When on the field in practice and game situations I make it a point to know what all of the other positions are doing. I would read the defenses and make the line calls to adjust.
College football is a legacy in my family. My uncle played for Penn State in the early 70's. My dad played division II football in the late 80's and early 90's at Mansfield University. He was a 4 years starter. My parents have always driven me hard to be better then them in life and athletics. It would be an honor to follow my dad and become the best football player I could be for your program. There is no doubt that I would be an asset to any program.
