My name is Isaiah Alicea and I want to thank you for reviewing my profile. I've been a football player since I was seven years old, and over the years I have proven to be a leader both on and off the field. My coaches utilized my abilities by placing me at many different positions throughout the course of the season. As a starter this year, my versatility contributed to our team finishing with two more wins than last year. We are looking forward to continued progress for next season.
Football is more than a game to me. It has made me the young man that I am, and has taught me valuable life lessons. I am not the type of player focused on numbers and stats, instead my focus is on helping the team win. While on the field, I find that the game slows down and I feel very much in control; knowing where everyone is and where they need to be. I feel that my football IQ is my most valuable asset as a player. Last summer, I was selected to play in the NFLHSPD (High School Player Development) camp at Cleveland, Ohio. I represented the Philadelphia Eagles All-Star team and competed with athletes from across the country. We were undefeated but lost the in the semi-finals to the eventual champions. It was a great experience.
Off the field, I challenge myself in the classroom by taking AP and Honors courses. I place a higher priority on classwork than I do any extra curricular activities. I plan on pursuing a law-enforcement career path after college, and I look to football to help cultivate the discipline that I will need to be successful. The college athlete I look up to most is Andre Williams of Boston College. Not only is he an accomplished athlete, but he puts his schoolwork as a priority in front of him, and possesses the hard-working attitude that all athletes need.
I am excited by the recruiting process and the potential for playing college football. I look forward to discussing my prospects with coaches in the near future. - Isaiah Alicea
