Personal Statement
Dear Coaches,
My goal is to earn a starting spot on the offensive line, but I am willing to play in whichever position the coaches deem appropriate. I strive to always leave everything I have out on the field. I am extremely dedicated and both now and in college I will train harder than anyone in both weight room and in the classroom; strengthening my body and my mind.
An injury my sophomore year sidelined me for most of that year. This adversity gave me a new perspective on the game, from the sideline I was able to work with my coaches, game plan and learned how to break down film. This time off only made me stronger and a better overall student of the game. This year, my Junior year i picked up where I left off as a Freshman; starting on Varsity and making the All Chesmont Team again.
I am a great candidate for your team due to my die hard love for the sport, my relentless work ethic, my desire to win, and my competitive nature. What separates me from other recruits is my ability to listen and internalize all of the advice that my coaches give me. I take constructive criticism well and am always striving to improve myself both on and off the field. I never back down from a challenge, and when a teammate is struggling I am always the first to rush to their side, encouraging them to live up to the limit of their own potential.
As mentioned above, my academics are extremely important to me. I understand the importance of maintaining eligibility; my team depends on me and if I were to fall behind in school I face the risk of letting not only my coaches and teammates down, but myself. I have grown up in a household where athletics always come second to academics and I have maintained very good grades through my high school career. I am not planning on letting off the gas pedal at all next year for academics and hope to end the year with a GPA that I can take pride in.
Yours truly,
Nathan Pizzini
