Personal Statement
At the age of five, I became a student athlete. I have learned that life is the game, on and off the field. No matter what the final score is, your teammates and family are always behind you to support and encourage you. Football, like life, is a game of problem solving. One must be able to read the plays as they unfold and have a strategy as to the direction to move in. I have battled Diabetes, Celiac Disease and Thyroid Disease since the age of three. I am one of the smallest varsity lineman in the state of Rhode Island. These adversities, have not been obstacles, but challenges to embrace and work on everyday. They have not slowed me down, but taught me that one must fight for what they believe in and desire.
As a year round athlete, I believe that you must be goal oriented. As a varsity linebacker, I am currently ranked third in the state. I have had the honor and pleasure to experience great camaraderie, dedication, resilience and support from teammates. My leadership skills, desire and dedication were attributes identified when I was nominated by my peers and coaching staff as captain of my high school football team. These highlights of my character portray me on and off the field. It is my plan, to become a student athlete, at the college level and continue to improve and grow as an individual. In closing, thank you for your time and consideration.
