Football is my passion but earning a college degree is my ultimate goal. I have dealt with adversity most of my life. I am dyslexic and not a pure natural athlete but I have never let that stop me. I just work harder. I played multiple sports my entire life but upon entering high school, I decided to focus on football and academics. My 9th grade year, I started at center but broke my elbow in our first regular season game. I was able to come back and play the last two games but lost a lot of strength in my arm. I worked hard the next year to regain that strength but lost my position on varsity to a larger player. I started JV and continued to focus on getting stronger and faster. I knew that I would grow eventually so I focused on doing things I had control over. I lifted weights twice as much as everyone else and conditioned everyday. I also made sure to keep my grades up. Since the end of my sophomore year, I have grown 6 inches and cut 1 second off my 40 time. I can block, catch, run, tackle, and long snap. This year I am playing multiple positions: TE, OT, OG, C and DT and I will be a leader on the field. I also know that I will continue to succeed in the classroom.
