Personal Statement
Thank you to all of the coaches and recruiters that have expressed a sincere interest in me over the last year or so. I'm very pleased that I'll be attending St. Cloud State University and playing football for the Huskys. It's a great university with a competitive football program and I am honored to be invited to be a part of it.
Good luck to you all.
Gabe

From my Head Coach-Lee Schmidt: “Gabe was our best defensive lineman. He made it very difficult to run on his side of the ball. He is quick and explosive. Gabe made it very tough on tackles to block him. He worked hard to put on 20 pounds of muscle before his senior year and that showed in his tremendous work ethic.” Lee Schmidt, The Brookings Register, Nov 22, 2012 A few updates: • I'm getting some DII offers. • I was awarded All Conference D-End for ESD • I’ve been invited to play in the SD All-Start Game this summer * I will be 230 lbs by August 2013. Here's a link to my latest hightlight video: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/999633/#highlights/22707375 My name is Gabe Eggebrecht. I am currently a Senior at Brookings High School, in Brookings, SD.
I’m a 6’ 0”, 215 pound Defensive-End and Outside Linebacker, running the 40 yard dash in 4.8 seconds. Currently I squat 515, bench 285, have a 30 inch vertical and run the 200 Shuttle in 39.13 seconds. I train the entire off-season so that when I step on the field I am at my best, first for my team, then for myself.
I've been playing football since I was 9. I played club league from 4-6th grade, then middle school league from 7-8th grade. Then high school football as a Freshman, Sophomore, and made starting Varsity as a D-End my Junior year. I am capable of playing well on either side of the ball on defense.
My coaches have told me that I’m a explosive, aggressive, and physical player, who is a team player. I’m a natural leader who knows how to keep my teammates spirits up, and keep them as determined to play as I am. I thrive on the opportunity to help my teammates achieve their goals, just as I work to achieve my own. I strive to be an example for my teammates on and off the field. I work hard in school, and I work harder than anyone on my team in the weight-room, and I don’t participate in the party scene.
In addition to football I’m involved in the Oral Interpretation Club, participate in community improvement projects, and last year went to Guatemala to help build a house for a young single mother, in addition to spending time with some of the local children. I have a strong faith and incorporate it into
my life.
Regarding prospective colleges; I am willing to consider most schools, as long as they provide the major I intend to pursue, and a well organized and competitive football program. I plan on pursuing a major in Business and Criminal Justice/Political Sciences. I’d prefer the school be located in the upper Midwest, but would consider other locations. I’m open to playing for Division I, II, or III colleges, or other options that would be a good fit.
