Personal Statement
I started playing football because I love the team bonding, the energy in the locker room, and because it is fun. I am hard-working, passionate about football, and put the team before myself. I began punting the spring of my junior year and realized that I needed help with the basic mechanics, so I began training with a private coach. I then went from having bad form to being able to successfully win the punting job my senior year and got to be apart of something special. I was then recruited to play at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Due to poor grades in high school i was academically ineligible for my first semester of college and was not officially on the roster. I was able to still be around the team and even got to do pre-practice drills with the punters. At the end of the season my head coach got let go and when the new head coach was hired, my situation wasn't communicated clearly and I came to realize that I no longer had a spot on the team. The assistant athletic director/compliance officer at Northern State University has confirmed that I am academically eligible and that I am free to look at other universities.
